Default Is quick charger compatible in Italy?

Hello,

I have a Nikon Quick Charger MH-18a and I would like to use it in Italy. On the back of the charger it says: Input 120V 60Hz and in a *separate* box with a label "Foreign" it says Input: 100V to 240V, 50Hz to 60Hz. However, the cable says 125V. Can I simply get a US to Italy plug adapter and plug this in and use it, or do I need a special cable?

Thanks

Halli Hallo

May you show us a picture from the supply where we can see whats written on.
No way when it only says 125V 60Hz.

Normaly switching supplys have a wide inputerange from 100V~250V, 50-60Hz, so that you can use them all over the world.

Are you also aware that nearly each country have a different plug?

Halli Hallo

Very strange, the original PDF on the Nikon site says 100-240V, 50-60Hz.

http://www.nikonusa.com/pdf/manuals/...ger/MH-18a.pdf

Maybe it will be better to ask the same question at a Nikon support.

Thank you for the PDF.

The accessory power cord must be used
For USA only: Over AC 125 V
Use a power cord suited to the voltage in use with AC 250V 15A rated plugs (NEMA 6P-15) and a minimum of SVT type cord for insulation and for anything over AWG 18 in size.
From this I understand that I must get a power chord that is rated for 250V 15A. Does anyone know where I could purchase a 220V - 250V power chord for my battery charger?

Hi,

you can buy these in Italy at any hardware store for a few Euros.

If you have the orign US-Power cord, yu need an adapter. This plug adapter is all you need to convert the US rectangular pronged plug to the round prong Italian power plug used in most Italian homes and hotels.

This adapter is ungrounded, which is why it doesn't have a third, center prong. This is fine for devices which are insulated (having a plastic body, for instance like Nikon Quick Charger).
